It’s a kind of tradition in my husband's office to have family day/s if they have succeed achieving their goals or even breaking the turning point in their sales business. This time, the company had planned to have Indonesia Sales and Marketing Meeting 2008, August 16-18 in Yogyakarta. Well, I think it would be a great benefit for the whole family members to celebrate this achievement of their husbands and their fathesr (it happened to be the employee are men)…
And the adventure began…
DAY 1 – August 16, 2008
We must admit that we were looking forward of these days, although the children had to sacrifice the Independence Day celebration in our children’s school. Hope the school could understand this.
We went off to the Airport Sukarno-Hatta, again, in hurry like last time to Bali. My husband decided to take his car to the airport and parked it in there. It means, he had to find the parking area and of course it took more time to wait…..
Children and I had to check in first. This time, I excuse the two people who broke the queuing lines to keep extending the time until my husband arrived. Just in time, I passed over the ticket from the exit door to enable him enter in the room. Phheeiuuhh…5 minutes to boarding.
The Lion Air postponed the departure time about 25 minutes. We met my husband’s colleagues and their family there. Finally, we went aboard and off we go for Yogyakarta’s adventure.
When we arrived in Adi Sucipto Airport, a hotel driver has been there to pick us up. It took only 20 minutes until we arrived in Melia Purosani. The hotel looked so busy and we had to wait for our room til it ready. So we decided to went walking and found a recommended satay restaurant about 500m away from the hotel.
While we were there, I called mba Othie and Pak Halim to come to the hotel to pick up their stuff. Well, 30 minutes before Welcoming Meeting started. Nice to have meeting with them although only in a very short time.
Don’t you think that you could lay down and relax after that! The committee has arranged a program for us to spend that evening.
First, We had our dinner in Arirang Restaurant. It was supposed to be a Korean Resaturant but the food were Indonesian ones. The owner is Korean and one of family member was really nice and kind in welcoming the restaurant visitors. There were also playground for children with bikes, slides, hula hup rattan ring. So most of the children spent to play in there until a calling that we had to get on the bus again.
The bus took us to see Ramayana Ballet Show near Prambanan Temple.

As we had been to this place before, we prefer to save our energy by taking first steps going up and rest...
DAY 3 – August 18, 2008
The day was the last day for mums and children in Yogyakarta. Some of us had to fly back to Jakarta via Yogyakarta, and some of us via Solo. We decided just to relax at the hotel room, watching tv and pack up our stuff. While I’ve heard others were going to Malioboro and Mirota.
After having lunch together, a car has picked up us to take us to Solo. Our husbands waved us goodbye, as they had to stay and continue their meeting there.
We wish them every success…
[so that we could go somewhere else in the future!! ;-)]
Thank you DuPont!!
